One of the most important skills for successful leadership in the 21st century is an ability to think innovatively to quickly solve non-standard problems and generate new ideas. However innovation requires creativity, and we all used to think that creativity is chaotic and not manageable. However, it is not the case any more.
During last several decades, researchers discovered that creative thinking for finding innovative solutions to numerous problems and challenges surrounding us can be managed. A new method was born which was called TRIZ. It introduces a systematic approach to inventive thinking and has been successfully tested and became the best practice of innovation at such world leading companies as Intel, Procter & Gamble, Samsung.
The method is based on a new philosophy of innovative problem solving and suggests a number of practical tools to enhance our innovative thinking skills to solve non-standard problems. Especially those problems that address diverse types of conflicts and when trade-offs are not welcome. By using the TRIZ tools the time needed for finding new feasible innovative solutions can be drastically reduced, and problems that seem to be unsolvable can be successfully attacked.
Currently TRIZ is used to support innovative problem solving in technology, business and management, and social areas.
